Mr. Leon Anderson

Leon Anderson brings extensive experience in financial regulation and operations management to his role as Deputy Executive Director of Operations and Administration at the Financial Services Commission (FSC). With a career spanning both regulatory oversight and the financial sector, he has played a key role in shaping Jamaica’s insurance regulatory framework.

Mr. Anderson previously served the FSC for 13 years between 2001 and 2014, holding positions including Deputy Executive Director and Acting Executive Director. He later returned as a Special Advisor, contributing to the Commission’s strategic initiatives. His expertise in insurance regulation is rooted in nearly two decades in the life insurance industry, primarily with Life of Jamaica (now Sagicor Life Jamaica Limited).

He was also a key contributor at FINSAC, where he helped develop insurance solvency standards and financial accounting regulations.

A Chartered Accountant, Mr. Anderson holds a degree in Management Studies from the University of the West Indies and an MBA from the University of Wales and the Manchester Business School. He is also a Fellow of the Life Management Institute (FLMI). In his current role, he oversees the Commission’s operational and administrative functions, ensuring efficiency and alignment with its regulatory mandate.
